Bas-Armagnac
Bas-Armagnac is the westernmost of the three Armagnac terroirs, spreading across the Gers and the Landes on sandy, iron rich soil. It accounts for the largest share of the region's AOC vineyards, and it is the terroir most associated with the classic character of Armagnac brandy, distilled here since the region's earliest recorded stills. Its towns, Eauze, Nogaro, and Cazaubon among them, have grown up around that same land and that same trade for generations.
